I know that loosing a pet is one of the hardest things, they are always there for you and they never complain and you know they will never dislike you for who you are. They take you as you are and as long as you love them in turn, they will be affectionate towards you.

I concur with your feelings of dread, and no matter how hard it can be, sometimes you have to face your fears. The good news is Bacons death was calm and relaxed, it wasn't full of pain and suffering, so you should take total comfort in that.

Loss is painful, especially the loss of a charismatic friend, but, like every heart ache, it will get better with time. No pet can replace the spot in your heart that Bacon occupies, but you always have room to introduce more into it so that your heart won't be quite so lonely.

it has been hard going out there and not seeing her... even my three dogs notice that she's gone... it's weird I didn't think she mattered to them.... but the more I think about it and no matter how hard it is- I'm not saying it's for the best because she died much too soon but in a few years we will have to sell this land we have and move some where else and we don't think we will be able to buy a place with room for all of them....I hate it- because I love them all- but it would've been so hard to see her go to a breeder farm or somewhere where she would've been mistreated...because people don't see animals as living things with feelings... they see them as money- entertainment...
